Like a wild tide

My ego comes to control it all

She pushes all things away

She is my hero

She protects the hell out of me

In such profound devotion

I need to thank her

All these years of service

If it was a captain

It would have all decorations

She is fast as a thunder

Smart as a fox

So I advance

Slowly

In waves

Giving in gentle pushes

Letting her take her time

She adjusts

I’m safe

And I know

you are with me

She softens
